The love and appreciation of the outdoors were instilled early in Cheyenne.
Born and raised in sunny South Florida, she spent winters in the Florida
Keys and summers on her family’s farm in the mountains of North Carolina,
an upbringing that shaped her lifelong connection to nature and the land.
A self-taught photographer, Cheyenne began her professional career in 1989
after leaving Miami for the wide-open landscapes of the American West.
She quickly built a successful career shooting stock and assignment
photography, specializing in extreme adventure sports, outdoor recreation,
health and fitness, and Western/Southwestern culture and landscapes.
Following the events of 9/11, both life and business shifted, and Cheyenne
stepped away from photography for a much-needed reset. But the creative pull
never left. In 2008, she returned to the camera with renewed vision, this
time focusing on Digital Fine Art Photography.
Today, Cheyenne is known for her bold, evocative imagery of the American West
and Southwest. Her work captures not just landscapes, but the soul of a place:
the textures, the light, and perhaps even the ghosts lingering in rusted relics,
forgotten homesteads, and timeworn details. Through her use of light, color, and
form, she invites these quiet remnants to tell their stories once again.
Over the course of her career, Cheyenne’s work has appeared in hundreds, if not
thousands, of publications worldwide. Her client list includes Sunset Magazine,
Subaru Drive Magazine, Outdoor Research, the U.S. Postal Service, Backroads, Outdoor
Photographer, Outside Magazine , and many more. While she no longer actively pursues
editorial work, her images continue to be licensed through top stock agencies and
occasionally appear in advertising campaigns, magazines, and book covers. Her fine art
hotography is collected by clients around the globe.
